Who we are
Comerio (“we”, “our”, “us”) operates the website and app at comerio.app. We help diners understand restaurant menus and order confidently when eating abroad.
What data we collect
- Menu images: Photos you take of menus are sent to our servers for analysis. We do not retain menu images after processing is complete.
- Preferences: Dietary requirements and table size information you enter before scanning. This is stored in your browser session only.
- Usage data: We collect anonymised usage analytics (page views, scan counts, feature usage) to understand how the product is used. This data does not identify you personally.
- Device information: Basic device and browser information sent with requests (browser type, screen size). Not used to identify individuals.
What we do not collect
- We do not require account registration and do not collect names, email addresses, or contact details unless you email us directly.
- We do not collect location data.
- We do not collect or store payment information (if purchases are added in future, this is handled by a third-party payment processor).
How we use your data
- Menu images are used solely to generate recommendations for your current session.
- Usage analytics help us improve the product — understanding which features are used and where drop-off occurs.
- We do not sell data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising.
Third-party services
Comerio uses the following third-party services to operate:
- OpenAI API: Menu images and text are sent to OpenAI for analysis. OpenAI's privacy policy applies to this processing. We send only the minimum data required.
- Vercel: Comerio is hosted on Vercel. Vercel processes request data as part of hosting. See Vercel's privacy policy for details.
Cookies and storage
Comerio uses browser sessionStorage to hold your preferences and scan results during your session. This data is deleted when you close the browser tab. We do not use tracking cookies or persistent cookies for analytics.
Your rights
You have the right to request information about any personal data we hold, to request deletion, or to raise a complaint. Because we do not collect personal data by default, there is typically nothing to request. If you have contacted us by email, you can ask us to delete your message and any related data.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy as Comerio evolves. The “last updated” date at the top indicates when changes were last made. Continued use of Comerio after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
